Airfare savings 101
1. If you are a student, check out student fares. Any young adult (18 through 25), even if not in school, qualifies for nearly all of these:
Students Fly Cheaper
18-25? You can fly cheaper!
Although student and youth fares are not always cheapest–compare with Kayak fares below–having a student ticket often makes it less expensive to change dates, stay longer, etc.
2. Kayak lets you–student or nonstudent–easily compare airfare prices on 100s of sites.
Be sure to compare total prices.
For international travel, some airlines or sites add expensive courier fees for paper tickets, while others give you free electronic tickets.
Most airlines, but not all, add checked bag fees. For two bags, these range from nothing on Southwest to $140 roundtrip on Allegiant Air!
Because it is one of the few airlines that Kayak does not display, check Southwest fares directly with it.
